Concierge Medicine
Concierge practices or Direct Primary Care [DPC] practices – are practices that charge a single annual membership to their patients for detailed comprehensive care. They have opted out of Health Insurance companies like Medicare, Medicaid, Aetna or Horizon. Instead, their members pay the practice an annual membership fee. These practices can then spend that year focusing intently on the patients needs. The DPC provider wants more quality time with the patients. Not wasting time arguing with insurance companies. They want to care for the patient not jump through hoops for insurance company reimbursements or denials.
We have all seen the erosion of the provider: patient relationship over the past few years. Practices are overwhelmed, staff members are distracted and provider is unavailable and is backed-up with paperwork from insurance companies and billers, and countless billing errors that swamp the daily routine. These obstacles burden and overwhelm many traditional practices and this cycle repeats day after day in traditional practices. Unfortunately, on the losing end of that “insurance manipulated relationship” is sadly - the patient. Patients today are increasingly frustrated with lack of access to appointments, are put off by rude office staff and the harsh reality is that they cannot get what they hope for in traditional practices. Many patients never even see their primary care doctor at all because of this frustration. The gap between patients and their provider has widened drastically in recent years, as traditional practices have been forced to give up “value in favor of volume”.
DPC –practices never have to worry about that trade off. The volume is not the point – instead we prioritize detailed comprehensive care and ease of patient access. The DPC provider is able to focus on relationship building and the care of the patient. Our patients are our priority. Their health and overall wellness is our focus. Monthly insurance reimbursements are not our concern. DPC annual memberships – usually less than the average person spends on entertainment per year – allow for healthier doctor/patient relationship and a better patient experience overall.
Our patients keep their insurances for Lab Work, Radiology, Medications, Specialist visits, ER visits etc. Our memberships are easily paid for with: HSA/FSA accounts, Credit card, Cash and we even offer simple financing – monthly payments options for annual packages as well.
